341-8536 Injector Seal — Cat

This is a CAT Injector Seal, a critical component designed to create a tight seal around the fuel injector within the engine cylinder head. It is manufactured from high-grade materials to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures, preventing fuel leaks and combustion blow-by, unlike a worn or cracked seal. Operators may notice rough idling, a loss of engine power, increased exhaust smoke, or a fuel smell if this seal fails.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first sign of a failed injector seal is often a rough or uneven engine idle, accompanied by a noticeable loss of engine power. If left unaddressed, fuel may leak externally, creating a fire hazard, or combustion gases can enter the crankcase, leading to increased oil pressure and potential engine damage. Continued operation risks significant fuel system contamination and internal engine component damage.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean the injector bore in the cylinder head to ensure a perfect seal and prevent leaks. Never reuse old seals, and ensure the new seal is correctly oriented and fully seated before installing the injector.

Service Note

When replacing injector seals, it is advisable to inspect the fuel injectors themselves for wear or damage and consider replacing the injector return line seals as well.
