324-8021 Fuel Injection Pump — Cat 320D

This is a high-pressure fuel injection pump, responsible for delivering precisely metered fuel into the engine cylinders at the correct time and pressure for combustion. It is manufactured to stringent OEM standards, ensuring optimal fuel atomization and engine performance compared to a worn pump. Operators may experience rough idling, difficulty starting, reduced engine power, or increased exhaust emissions if the pump is malfunctioning.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Initial symptoms of a failing fuel injection pump include intermittent engine misfires, difficulty starting, and a noticeable loss of engine power. As the pump degrades, the engine may run roughly, hesitate under acceleration, and produce excessive black smoke. A complete pump failure will result in the engine being unable to start or run.

Installation Tip

Ensure the fuel system is completely purged of air after installation to prevent starting issues. Use new fuel filters and ensure the fuel tank is clean before filling.

Service Note

Replace the fuel filters and inspect the fuel injectors for proper operation when installing a new fuel injection pump.
