320-2940 Fuel Injector — Cat M322D

This is a CAT Fuel Injector, responsible for precisely atomizing and delivering diesel fuel into the combustion chamber at the correct time and pressure. Manufactured to meet stringent OEM quality standards, it ensures optimal fuel combustion and engine efficiency, unlike a worn injector with poor spray patterns or incorrect timing. Operators may notice a rough-running engine, black smoke from the exhaust, or a significant loss of power when this fuel injector begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Early signs of a failing fuel injector include a rougher engine idle, increased exhaust smoke (often black), and a noticeable decrease in engine power. If left unaddressed, the poor fuel atomization can lead to incomplete combustion, potentially causing cylinder wash-down and increased wear on engine components. Continued operation with faulty injectors risks significant engine damage and reduced fuel efficiency.

Installation Tip

Ensure the injector bore in the cylinder head is perfectly clean and free of any carbon deposits before installation. Do not reuse old copper sealing washers; always use new ones.

Service Note

When replacing fuel injectors, it is critical to inspect the fuel lines for leaks and ensure the fuel filter has been recently changed to prevent contamination.
