312-8340 Water Tank Radiator — Cat 320D

This CAT Water Tank Radiator is a key component of the engine's cooling system, responsible for dissipating heat from the coolant to prevent overheating. It is constructed with durable materials and efficient fin design to meet OEM standards for heat transfer and longevity, unlike a clogged or leaking radiator that compromises cooling. Symptoms of a failing radiator include a rising temperature gauge, visible coolant leaks, and steam from the engine compartment.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a faulty radiator is often a consistently high engine temperature reading on the gauge. This may be accompanied by visible coolant leaks from the radiator core or tanks, or steam escaping from the engine bay. Continued operation with a compromised radiator risks severe engine damage due to overheating.

Installation Tip

Ensure all sealing surfaces for the radiator hoses and mounting brackets are clean and free of debris before installation. Do not overtighten hose clamps, as this can damage the radiator necks or hoses.

Service Note

Inspect the radiator cap, thermostat, and water pump for proper operation when replacing the radiator.
