303-4290 Exhaust Ejector — Cat 120M 12M

This Exhaust Ejector is a critical component within the engine's exhaust system, designed to manage the flow and expulsion of exhaust gases. It is manufactured from high-temperature resistant materials to withstand the harsh exhaust environment, unlike a corroded or blocked ejector which can impede gas flow. Operators may experience a noticeable decrease in engine power, increased exhaust smoke, or unusual exhaust noises if this component is compromised.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A failing exhaust ejector may initially present as a slight loss of engine responsiveness or a subtle increase in exhaust noise. If left unaddressed, exhaust backpressure can build, leading to significant power reduction and increased soot formation. Prolonged operation with a faulty ejector can put undue stress on the turbocharger and other engine components.

Installation Tip

Ensure the mating surfaces are clean and free of carbon buildup or gasket residue before installing the new ejector. Avoid overtightening the mounting hardware, which can distort the component or damage the threads.

Service Note

Inspect the exhaust manifold and turbocharger connections for leaks or damage when replacing the exhaust ejector.
