2p1785 Oil Pump — Cat 3306

This oil pump is essential for lubricating engine components, delivering pressurized oil throughout the engine to reduce friction and wear. It is manufactured to meet stringent OEM quality standards, providing reliable oil pressure and flow superior to a worn pump. Operators may notice a drop in oil pressure, increased engine noise, or the oil pressure warning light illuminating when this part fails.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A failing oil pump will first manifest as a reduction in oil pressure, often indicated by the oil pressure warning light or gauge. If operation continues, internal engine components will begin to suffer from inadequate lubrication, leading to increased wear, knocking sounds, and potential seizure. The ultimate consequence is severe internal engine damage and complete operational failure.

Installation Tip

Ensure the oil pickup tube screen is clean and the pickup tube is properly seated in the pump before installation. Over-torquing the pump mounting bolts can cause the housing to warp, leading to immediate pressure loss.

Service Note

Always replace the engine oil filter and flush the oil cooler lines when installing a new oil pump.
