Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a compromised air cleaner is a gradual loss of engine power and a noticeable increase in fuel consumption. If the restriction becomes severe, the engine may begin to run rough, produce black exhaust smoke, and struggle to maintain idle speed. Prolonged operation with a severely clogged air cleaner can lead to increased internal engine wear.

Installation Tip

Ensure the sealing surfaces on the air cleaner housing are clean and free of any debris or old gasket material before installing the new element. Do not operate the engine without the air cleaner element installed.
