Failure Symptoms

The primary symptom of a failing lift cylinder seal kit is visible hydraulic fluid leaking from the cylinder rod or barrel. This can lead to sluggish or erratic operation of the lift function, and a gradual loss of lifting power. If left unaddressed, the hydraulic system can lose significant pressure, rendering the lifting function inoperable and potentially causing damage to the hydraulic pump.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean the inside of the cylinder bore and all seal grooves before installing the new seals. Ensure each seal is lubricated with clean hydraulic fluid and installed without twisting or damaging its sealing lip.

Service Note

When rebuilding a hydraulic cylinder, inspect the cylinder barrel for straightness and wear, and check the piston and rod for any damage that could compromise the new seals.
