Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of failure include a gradual loss of arm speed and holding power, often accompanied by slight hydraulic fluid weeping from the cylinder rod. If neglected, the leaks will become more pronounced, leading to significantly slower arm operation and potential uncontrolled descent of the arm. This can compromise digging precision and create a safety hazard.

Installation Tip

Carefully inspect the cylinder rod for any nicks or scratches before installing the new seals, as imperfections can quickly damage new seals. Ensure all old seal material is completely removed from the cylinder grooves.
