This is a CAT Passive High Output Speed Sensor, which monitors the rotational speed of an engine component and transmits this information to the engine control module (ECM). It is built to meet demanding OEM performance standards, providing accurate and reliable speed readings unlike a faulty sensor that may produce intermittent or incorrect data. Operators might experience engine performance issues, check engine lights, or difficulty starting the engine when this sensor is not functioning correctly.

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.
Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.
The first sign of a failing speed sensor can be an intermittent check engine light or a slight fluctuation in engine RPM. As the sensor degrades, the engine may begin to run rough, hesitate under load, or even stall unexpectedly. In severe cases, the ECM may not receive a speed signal, preventing the engine from starting or running at all.
Ensure the sensor tip is clean and free from metallic debris before installation, as this can interfere with its magnetic field. Avoid overtightening the sensor, which can strip the threads or damage the sensor housing.
Inspect the target wheel (e.g., flywheel ring gear) for damage, debris, or missing teeth, and check the wiring harness for continuity and shorts.
