1W9771 Crankshaft — Cat 215 916

This crankshaft is the backbone of the engine's power generation, converting reciprocating piston motion into rotational force transmitted to the drivetrain. Manufactured to precise OEM specifications, it offers superior strength and durability for sustained high-performance operation, unlike a worn or damaged crankshaft that can lead to severe engine imbalance and internal damage. Operators may experience excessive engine vibration, unusual knocking sounds, or a complete loss of engine power if this critical component fails.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first sign of crankshaft failure is often a significant increase in engine vibration or a distinct knocking sound from the engine block. This can rapidly escalate to severe engine imbalance, leading to catastrophic internal damage and complete loss of engine power. Continued operation risks extensive damage to the engine block, connecting rods, and other critical internal components.

Installation Tip

Ensure all bearing surfaces on the crankshaft and in the engine block are perfectly clean and lubricated with assembly lube before installation. Never reuse old main or rod bearings; always install new ones with a new crankshaft.

Service Note

Replace all main and connecting rod bearings, and meticulously inspect the cylinder block for any signs of stress or damage.
