Failure Symptoms

A clogged fuel filter initially manifests as a gradual loss of engine power, particularly under load, or intermittent engine hesitation. As the restriction worsens, starting the engine may become difficult, and the engine might stall unexpectedly. Continued operation with a severely restricted filter can lead to fuel starvation and potential damage to the fuel injection pump and injectors.

Installation Tip

Ensure the new filter is filled with clean diesel fuel before installation to prime the system and prevent air pockets. Do not overtighten the filter housing, as this can damage the seal.
