1j773-17013-49177-03242 — Turbo Td04L4 09Tk3 Turbocharger

This is a TD04L4 turbocharger, a vital component for CAT skid steer loaders that forces compressed air into the engine cylinders to increase power output. It is engineered to meet precise OEM specifications, offering reliable boost pressure and durability compared to a worn or damaged turbocharger that exhibits bearing play or seal leaks. Operators may observe a whining noise from the engine bay, a significant loss of power, or excessive smoke if the turbocharger is failing.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

An early indication of turbocharger failure might be a faint whistling or whining sound that increases with engine RPM. If left unaddressed, this can progress to a noticeable loss of engine power, especially under load, and potentially excessive blue or black exhaust smoke. Continued operation with a failing turbocharger risks oil starvation in the engine and damage to the turbine and compressor wheels.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly flush the engine's oil supply and return lines before installing the new turbocharger to remove any debris that could damage the new unit's bearings. Ensure the oil feed line is primed with clean oil before connecting it.

Service Note

Inspect the engine's crankcase ventilation system and the air filter for any signs of blockage or excessive contamination when replacing a turbocharger.
