188-8739 Fuel Injector — Cat

This fuel injector is responsible for precisely atomizing and delivering diesel fuel into the combustion chamber at the correct time and pressure, ensuring efficient combustion. Manufactured to meet stringent CAT specifications, it provides optimal spray patterns and durability, outperforming worn or faulty injectors. Operators may notice rough idling, reduced engine power, increased exhaust smoke, or difficulty starting the engine when a fuel injector begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Initial symptoms of a failing fuel injector include rough engine idling, a noticeable loss of power, and potentially increased black smoke from the exhaust. If left unaddressed, the engine may become difficult to start, and fuel economy will decrease significantly. A severely malfunctioning injector can lead to incomplete combustion, potential engine misfires, and increased emissions.

Installation Tip

Ensure the injector bore in the cylinder head is perfectly clean and free of any carbon deposits or debris before installation. Never reuse the old copper sealing washer; always install a new one to prevent leaks.

Service Note

Always replace the fuel filter and inspect the fuel lines for leaks when replacing fuel injectors.
