Failure Symptoms

A clogged cabin air filter will first manifest as a significant reduction in airflow from the cabin vents. You may also notice a musty or stale odor inside the cab, indicating trapped moisture and contaminants. If left unaddressed, the HVAC system may struggle to maintain the desired temperature, and the increased strain on the fan motor could lead to premature failure.

Installation Tip

Note the airflow direction arrow on the filter before installation, as incorrect placement will reduce its effectiveness. Ensure the filter is seated correctly in its housing to prevent air bypass.

Inspect the HVAC blower motor and evaporator core for debris or signs of mold growth when replacing the cabin air filter.
