Installation & Application Notes

Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a clogged fuel water separator is often a slight hesitation or sputtering under load, or a visible water-in-fuel indicator activating. If ignored, the engine may experience significant power loss, rough idling, or fail to start altogether as fuel flow is restricted. The ultimate consequence is severe damage to expensive fuel injection components due to water and particulate contamination.

Installation Tip

Always prime the new filter with clean fuel before installation to minimize air entering the fuel system. Ensure the sealing gasket makes full contact and do not overtighten the filter housing.

Service Note

Drain any accumulated water from the separator bowl regularly, and inspect the fuel lines for leaks when replacing the fuel water separator.
