156-6973 2 Pcs Rear Oil Seal — Cat 214D 214E

This is a CAT 2 Pcs Rear Oil Seal set, designed to prevent lubricant from escaping the engine's crankshaft rear main bearing area and contaminants from entering. Manufactured to meet OEM standards, these seals provide a tight, durable seal, unlike worn or damaged seals that can lead to significant oil leaks and potential engine damage. Operators may observe oil dripping from the rear of the engine, a low oil level warning, or a burning oil smell when these seals begin to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Inspect mating surfaces for wear before fitting. Use torque specs from service manual. Replace gaskets and seals as a set — reusing compressed gaskets causes oil leaks. Clean all oil passages with compressed air.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first sign of a failing rear oil seal is typically a visible oil leak originating from the rear of the engine, often noticed on the ground under the machine. If left unaddressed, the oil leak will worsen, potentially leading to a dangerously low oil level and increased risk of engine bearing damage due to insufficient lubrication. Continued operation with a significant oil leak can result in severe internal engine damage and costly repairs.

Installation Tip

Carefully inspect the crankshaft sealing surface for any nicks, burrs, or wear before installing the new seal. Ensure the seal is installed perfectly square to the crankshaft to prevent premature leakage.

Service Note

Inspect the crankshaft for scoring or wear, and check the condition of the rear main bearing when replacing the oil seals.
