This is a CAT Boom Cylinder Seal Kit, containing all necessary seals to rebuild a hydraulic boom cylinder and prevent internal and external fluid leakage. Manufactured to meet stringent OEM standards, these seals offer superior resistance to wear, heat, and hydraulic fluid degradation compared to worn or damaged seals. Operators may experience hydraulic fluid leaks around the boom cylinder, slow or jerky boom movements, or a loss of lifting capacity when this kit is needed.

Installation & Application Notes

Failure Symptoms

The first indication of failing boom cylinder seals is visible hydraulic fluid leakage around the cylinder rod or barrel. This can progress to slow or erratic boom operation, difficulty holding a load, or a complete loss of hydraulic pressure in the boom circuit. The risk is uncontrolled boom movement or failure to lift/hold loads, potentially causing damage or injury.

Installation Tip

Carefully inspect the cylinder rod for any nicks or burrs that could damage the new seals during installation. Ensure all old seal material is completely removed from the gland before inserting the new components.
