8r1930 Shoe As-Lined — Cat 966c

This lined shoe assembly is a vital component of the braking system, providing the friction surface necessary to slow or stop the equipment. Manufactured to high standards, it offers robust performance and longevity, outperforming worn or glazed brake shoes. Operators may experience reduced braking force, squealing noises, or a noticeable increase in stopping distance when this part is nearing the end of its service life.

Installation & Application Notes

Always replace brakes in axle sets. Bed-in new brake pads with 8–10 moderate stops from 40 km/h. Check disc runout with a dial gauge — maximum 0.1 mm. Inspect caliper slides and pistons when replacing pads.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

Initial signs of wear include a decrease in braking performance or audible squealing during application. As the lining wears down, stopping distances will increase, and the brakes may feel less responsive. Continued use with worn shoes can lead to damage to the brake drum or rotor, increasing repair costs.

Installation Tip

Ensure the brake drum or rotor surface is clean and free of debris or scoring before installing the new shoe assembly. Avoid reusing old hardware, such as springs or pins, as they may be fatigued and compromise brake function.

Service Note

Inspect brake drums or rotors for wear, scoring, or warping, and check all brake hardware, springs, and adjusters for proper function when replacing brake shoes.
