6E4098 Disc — Cat 583t D11R

This disc is a fundamental component within various systems, such as transmissions or brakes, designed to facilitate smooth operation through friction or engagement. Manufactured to meet stringent Caterpillar specifications, it provides reliable performance and durability, unlike a worn disc that may show signs of heat damage or material loss. Operators might experience issues like slipping, rough engagement, or reduced braking effectiveness when this disc begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Always replace brakes in axle sets. Bed-in new brake pads with 8–10 moderate stops from 40 km/h. Check disc runout with a dial gauge — maximum 0.1 mm. Inspect caliper slides and pistons when replacing pads.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A failing disc may initially cause symptoms such as slipping under load, delayed engagement, or a rougher feel during operation. If the wear continues, it can lead to a complete loss of function in the affected system, potentially causing the equipment to become inoperable. Continued operation with a worn disc can also lead to damage of other related components.

Installation Tip

Ensure all mating surfaces are perfectly clean and free of any lubricant or debris before assembly. Avoid mixing old and new friction materials if replacing multiple discs in a pack.

Service Note

Inspect associated friction plates, seals, and bearings for wear or damage when replacing this disc.
