CATBearing & Bushing

4J3363 Bearing — Cat 824b 825b

This is a high-quality engine main bearing designed to provide optimal support for the crankshaft within its designated engine block. Manufactured to meet rigorous OEM standards, it offers superior wear resistance and load-carrying capacity compared to a worn or damaged bearing. Operators may observe increased engine noise, such as knocking or rattling, and a noticeable drop in oil pressure when this bearing begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A failing main bearing often first presents as a deep, rhythmic knocking sound that increases with engine RPM. If ignored, this can progress to severe oil pressure loss, potentially leading to engine seizure. Continued operation risks catastrophic damage to the crankshaft and engine block.

Installation Tip

Ensure the crankshaft and bearing bores are meticulously clean and free of any debris or oil film before seating the bearing. Do not mix standard and undersized bearings on the same crankshaft.

Service Note

Inspect the crankshaft journals for wear and damage, and consider replacing the connecting rod bearings at the same time.
