2606341 Sprocket — Cat 304C Cr 305

This is a durable sprocket designed to engage with the track chain and propel Caterpillar compact equipment. Manufactured to meet OEM specifications, it provides optimal tooth profile and hardness for efficient power transfer and extended wear life compared to a worn sprocket with rounded or chipped teeth. Operators may experience track slippage, excessive track noise, or uneven track wear when this sprocket is failing.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The initial symptom of a worn drive sprocket is often an increase in noise from the undercarriage, particularly a clanking or popping sound as the track engages the teeth. If ignored, the sprocket teeth will wear down further, leading to track slippage and accelerated wear on both the sprocket and the track chain. Severe wear can result in the track derailing, causing significant downtime and potential damage to other undercarriage components.

Installation Tip

Ensure the final drive output shaft and the sprocket mounting surface are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damage before installing the new sprocket. Do not overtighten the mounting bolts, as this can distort the sprocket or damage the shaft threads.

Service Note

When replacing the drive sprocket, it is essential to inspect the track chain for wear and the final drive components for any signs of leakage or damage.
