CATBearing & Bushing

2333785 Main Bearing Set — Cat 315C 414E

This is a set of precision-engineered main bearings designed to support the crankshaft within the engine of compatible Caterpillar equipment. Manufactured to meet rigorous OEM specifications, these bearings provide optimal lubrication and wear resistance, unlike worn bearings that can lead to increased oil consumption and reduced engine power. Operators might notice a knocking sound from the engine, a drop in oil pressure, or rough engine running when these main bearings begin to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first signs of main bearing failure often include a distinct knocking or rumbling sound from the engine, especially under load. As wear progresses, oil pressure may drop significantly, and the engine can run very roughly. Continued operation risks severe crankshaft and block damage, potentially leading to a complete engine failure.

Installation Tip

Ensure the crankshaft journals are meticulously cleaned and checked for any imperfections before installing the bearings. Never reuse old bearing shells or mix parts from different sets.

Service Note

Inspect the crankshaft journals for wear or damage, and replace connecting rod bearings and oil filter at the same time.
