CATBearing & Bushing

1H7724 Bushing — Cat 320C 320D

This is a durable bushing designed to provide a wear surface and facilitate smooth articulation or rotation in pivot points and linkage systems. Manufactured to meet high standards for hardness and dimensional accuracy, it offers extended service life over worn bushings that exhibit ovality or deep scoring. Operators may observe increased play in joints, squeaking noises, or imprecise control movements when this bushing fails.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first indication of a worn bushing is often excessive play or looseness in the joint, accompanied by potential squeaking or clunking noises. If ignored, the wear will accelerate, leading to damage of the mating pin and bore, resulting in compromised equipment stability and control. This can increase the risk of damage to adjacent hydraulic or structural components.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean the bore and the pin before installing the new bushing to ensure a proper fit and prevent premature wear. Do not use a hammer to drive the bushing; use a hydraulic press or appropriate bushing driver.

Service Note

Inspect the pivot pin for wear and ensure it is within service limits; also check adjacent seals for damage.
