1151650 Universal Joint Gp — Cat 950G 950G ii

This is a Universal Joint Group assembly, critical for transmitting rotational power between driveshaft components that are not perfectly aligned. Manufactured to meet stringent OEM standards, it allows for smooth power transfer through varying angles, unlike a worn U-joint which can bind or become loose. Operators may notice clunking noises when shifting into gear, vibration felt through the floor, or a loss of power to the drive wheels if this assembly fails.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

The first symptom of a failing universal joint is often a clunking noise when engaging or disengaging the drivetrain, or when accelerating and decelerating. This can progress to noticeable vibration transmitted through the machine's chassis, and in severe cases, the joint can fail completely, leading to a loss of drive power. This poses a risk of unexpected immobilization.

Installation Tip

Ensure the yoke ears and bearing cups are thoroughly cleaned and free of rust or debris before assembly. Never attempt to force the bearing cups into place; they should seat smoothly.

Service Note

Inspect the companion flange and driveshaft yoke for any signs of wear or damage, and check the condition of any associated seals or boots.
