CATBearing & Bushing

0941542 Bearing-Roller — Cat 311C 315C

This is a high-quality roller bearing designed to reduce friction and support loads in the undercarriage or transmission systems of Caterpillar excavators. Manufactured to meet rigorous performance standards, it offers superior durability and smooth operation compared to a worn or damaged bearing. Operators might observe increased noise, vibration, or a noticeable decrease in component responsiveness when this bearing begins to fail.

Installation & Application Notes

Never strike bearings directly — use a bearing press or driver set. Heat housing (not bearing) to ease installation. Replace bearings in sets where applicable. Check housing bore diameter before fitting — out-of-round bores destroy new bearings.

Always consult the OEM service manual for model-specific torque values and procedures. WhatsApp our technical team if you need fitment guidance.

Failure Symptoms

A failing bearing may first present as a humming or grinding sound during operation, or a slight stiffness in the affected component. If ignored, this can progress to increased vibration and potential seizure of the component, leading to further damage. The ultimate risk is damage to associated shafts and housings, resulting in significant repair costs.

Installation Tip

Thoroughly clean the bearing seat and shaft to remove any debris or old lubricant before fitting the new bearing. Ensure the bearing is seated squarely and avoid striking it directly with a hammer.

Service Note

Inspect the surrounding seals and lubricant for contamination or degradation, and check the shaft for any signs of scoring.
